🎓 A-CSM® Certification Requirements
- To earn your A-CSM®, you must:
- Hold a valid or expired Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) certification
- Complete an approved A-CSM® course (like this one)
- Log 12+ months of ScrumMaster experience in your Scrum Alliance profile (within the last 5 years)
- Accept the A-CSM® license and complete your Scrum Alliance profile
- Maintain your credential by earning SEUs and renewing every 2 years
✅ You can take the course before completing the 12 months of experience — but you’ll receive the credential only after logging it.
How to Earn Your A-CSM® Certification
Hold a Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) Credential You must already have a CSM® certification from Scrum Alliance. It can be active or expired — it will renew automatically when you earn your A-CSM®.
2️⃣ Gain Real-World ScrumMaster Experience Log at least 12 months of ScrumMaster work experience in your Scrum Alliance profile (within the last 5 years). 💡 You can take the A-CSM® course before completing this experience, but you’ll only receive the certification once it’s logged.
3️⃣ Attend an Approved A-CSM® Course Enroll in a 2-day (16-hour) Advanced Certified ScrumMaster® training led by a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST). This course includes advanced facilitation, coaching, scaling techniques, and real-world case studies.
4️⃣ Complete Pre/Post-Course Work (if applicable) Some trainers may assign short pre-course reading or post-course reflections to deepen your learning.
5️⃣ Accept Your A-CSM® License After completing the course, log into your Scrum Alliance account, accept the license agreement, and update your profile.
6️⃣ Maintain Your Certification Renew every 2 years by earning Scrum Education Units (SEUs) and paying a renewal fee. Your CSM® will also renew automatically.

- The exam is online, consists of 50 multiple-choice questions, and requires 37 correct answers (74%) to pass
